Chuck Voelker

Charles P. Voelker

Charles P. Voelker obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Notre Dame University in 1973 and his Juris Doctorate Degree from Duquesne University School of Law 1976. He was admitted in 1976 to the Pennsylvania Bar.

Attorney Voelker began his career as a tax attorney at Touche Ross & Co. and Arthur Young & Co., both international accounting firms.  He then practiced Business law and Family law Voelker, Schiffman, Parise & Wojdowski from 1979 to 1990.

In 1991, he was a founding partner at the well-known family law firm of Goldberg, Gruener, Gentile, Voelker & Horoho.  In 1998, he expanded his practice into the area of Estate Planning and Administration by forming the law firm of Voelker & Associates (which is now Voelker Kairys & Morris, LLC).  Attorney Voelker is also a mediator and collaborative law attorney. 

Attorney Voelker is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and participates in the Family Law and Estate Law sections.  He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.  He was appointed to be a member of the ACBA Fee Dispute panel.  Attorney Voelker taught Family Law at Duquesne University School of Law as an Adjunct Professor and has lectured on various family law issues for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.  

Attorney Voelker was selected as one of the Top Rated Lawyers for Western Pennsylvania – Family Law.  

He has served on the Board of Directors for a variety of charities including Epilepsy Foundation of Western PA and Parent & Child Guidance Center.  Attorney Voelker also served for over 30 years on the Board of Governors at the South Hills Country Club, including several terms as President of the Club.

Nicole Boyle Kairys

Ms. Kairys is an extremely skilled and experienced family law litigator, having practiced family law in Western Pennsylvania for over twenty years. Prior to her practice in the local area, Ms. Kairys practiced in Eastern Pennsylvania. Ms. Kairys is highly-skilled at representing clients in all aspects of support, divorce and custody matters. Ms. Kairys has extensive experience dealing with complex litigation matters, including high net worth estates and complex income structures.  Ms. Kairys  is certified  and experienced in the practice of collaborative law  and is a trained mediator.   

Ms. Kairys is very involved in the local legal community.  She is an active member of the Family Law Sections of the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations, is a member of the Collaborative Law Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania (CLASP). Ms. Kairys is a former member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section Rules committee and support subcommittee, and is past Chair of the Programming Committee of the Allegheny County Bar Association, Family Law Section, and past Vice-Chair of the Policy & Procedures Committee for the Collaborative Law Association. She has also served on the nominating committee for the Allegheny County Bar Association, Family Law Section, and has assisted with the Mock Trial Advocacy Programs in area law schools. Ms. Kairys is a member of the Matrimonial Inns of Court and has volunteered her professional services in the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Clinic and Neighborhood Legal Services.

Ms. Kairys focuses her estate practice in estate planning. She is a member of the Allegheny County Probate & Trust Law Section.

In addition to her involvements in the legal community, Ms. Kairys is a Board Member of Crisis Center North, an organization that provides victims of domestic violence with services and support.  

Ms. Kairys received her Juris Doctorate from The Delaware Law School and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delaware.  Ms. Kairys resides in the Wexford area with her husband and two sons.

John F Morris

John Franklin Morris

John F. Morris obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh in 1986 and his Juris Doctorate Degree from Duquesne University School of Law in 1990.  He was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in 1990.  In addtion, he was admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania in 1990, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit in 1995. 

Attorney Morris is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association, and the Lackawanna Bar Association (Scranton). He is a past member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice.

Attorney Morris began his career in private practice.  He also served as a Judicial Law Clerk for Allegheny County Common Pleas Judges Timothy Patrick O’Reilly and Susan Evashavik DiLucente from January 1996 through February 2015. He served as a Juvenile Detention Master in Allegheny County from 1996-1998, and currently serves as an Arbitrator in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, as needed. 

Attorney Morris joined the Voelker Kairys & Morris  firm in March 2018.  He brings a background in Family Law, Estate Planning, Estate Administration and Probate, Real Property Law and General Civil Litigation.  In addition, he has been a presenter for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s courses on dog bite laws and the National Business Institute’s courses on probate, and is a co-presenter with Jonathan Voelker, Esq. on the topic of cellphone evidence in Court.

In his local community of Carnegie, he is active in his Church, where he is presently Station Steward, and serves on various committees, including the Board of Trustees.  He also serves as its Delegate to the National Conference and on the National Conference Trustee Board. In the past, he served as Treasurer on the board of the Carnegie Youth Athletic Association, and was the vice-president and advisor for the Historical Society of Carnegie.

Jonathan C. Voelker

Jonathan “Jay” C. Voelker obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2007 from the University of Notre Dame and his Juris Doctorate Degree in 2011 from Duquesne University School of law. He was admitted in 2012 to the Pennsylvania Bar and the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Jay attended Bethel Park High School and Kiski Prep School. Prior to becoming a lawyer with the firm, Attorney Voelker worked in various positions at Voelker Kairys & Morris since it was established in 1998.  Attorney Voelker focuses his practice in Probate, Estate Administration and Estate Planning, as well as in Divorce, Custody, Support and Equitable Distribution.

Attorney Voelker is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association Family Law Section, Probate Section, and Young Lawyers Division, as well as a member of the Allegheny County Chapter of the Matrimonial Inns of Court.

Jay resides in the South Hills, and he enjoys gardening, reading, skiing, golfing, and fishing.

Matthew Rogers

Matthew Rogers

Matthew Rogers is a 2008 graduate of the Duquesne University School of Law. While a law student, he received a certification to practice law and represent underprivileged individuals by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in civil and family matters. For his efforts representing indigent community members in their various family law cases, he was presented with the Outstanding Clinical Service Award for his achievements in the Civil and Family Justice Law Clinic and the Pro Bono Legal Service Award.

Following law school, Mr. Rogers served as a law clerk for the Honorable John F. DiSalle in the Court of Common Pleas of Washington County. During his tenure with the Judge, he had the opportunity to work on hundreds of criminal, civil, family, and juvenile dependency cases.  Mr. Rogers draws upon this experience and his unique perspective from the Judge’s side of the bench in representing his clients.  Immediately prior to joining Voelker Kairys & Morris, LLC Mr. Rogers worked as an associate in a boutique family law practice firm in Pittsburgh where he gained extensive experience handling family and estate planning matters.

Mr. Rogers Joined Voelker Kairys & Morris, in order to devote his efforts toward representing clients in their family law matters. Mr. Rogers has experience representing clients regarding their custody, divorce, support, protection from abuse, grandparent’s rights, and estate planning cases in Allegheny and the surrounding counties.

Mr. Rogers is a member of Allegheny County and Washington County Bar Associations, as well as the Allegheny County Family Law Section.

Jeanette Robilliard

Jeanette Robilliard, a Pittsburgh, family law attorney, received her Honors Bachelor of Arts from the University of Ottawa, Canada and her J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Law.

During law school Jeanette acted as a certified legal intern through the University of Pittsburgh School of Law Family Law Clinic where she assisted clients with their various family law issues. This included the drafting of petitions, complaints and representing individuals in motions court. For her work in the clinic, Jeanette received the prestigious CALI award. She also acted as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Kim Eaton of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, Family Division while in school. It was during her time in law school that Jeanette recognized her passion for the practice of family law.

Since the realization of that passion Jeanette has dedicated her legal career to the practice of family law. Jeanette joins Voelker, Kairys & Morris after solidifying her family law focus working at two Pittsburgh-based law firms. She is proud to assist her clients through their custody, divorce and support matters. Jeanette prides herself on being a fair and tough advocate for her clients. She understands that each client and family is unique and deserving of a tailored legal approach.

Jeanette is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association as well as the Allegheny County Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Katherine L. W. Norton

Katherine L.W. Norton

Katherine L.W. Norton joined the firm as of Counsel in 2015. Attorney Norton practices in all areas of family law at both the Common Pleas and Appellate level. Super Lawyers magazine has named her a “Rising Star” in the area of Family Law for the years 2010 through 2018, and 2020.

Attorney Norton is the Director of Clinical and International Programs and Assistant Professor at Duquesne University School of Law. At Duquesne, she currently teaches the Family Law Clinic where she supervises students practicing the Family Court.  In addition to her teaching, Attorney Norton focuses her research on topics relating to access to justice and the use of technologies by the courts.

Attorney Norton received the 2017 Excellence in Teaching Award from Duquesne University School of Law Student Bar Association. The award is for exceptional performance in the education of students and is selected by the students.  She is also the 2017 Recipient of the Allegheny County Bar Associations, Lorrain Bittner Award and the 2019 recipient of the Edward G. O’Conner Fellows Award, awarded by the Allegheny County Bar Foundation.  Attorney Norton is an active member of the Allegheny County Bar Association.

She received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Allegheny College.
